The Neah-Kah-Nie School District Board of Directors voted Monday, December 10, to name the youth athletic field, located at the Neah Kah Nie School District main office in Rockaway Beach, Jim Mudd Field. School board members expressed their gratitude to Jim Mudd and the Mudd Nick Foundation for the long history of providing learning experiences for children in North Tillamook County. As a way to recognize Jim’s volunteer work and dedication to improving the lives of children, school board members voted unanimously to honor Jim’s legacy with this special honor.
The external vision of the Mudd Nick Foundation: “Our vision is that the children in our community become life-long stellar citizens who expand their life experiences, minds, and curiosities; accept responsibility for their actions; treat themselves and others with respect; maintain high personal integrity; exhibit socially-accepted behavior, and have fun!”
Jim Mudd Field is an extension of the Mudd Nick Foundation’s vision: A safe environment where children can have fun and expand their life experiences.
Jim Mudd Field was recently renovated with the assistance of Neah-Kah-Nie Youth Athletics, Mudd Nick Foundation, Rockaway Beach Lions Club, and many others.
Jim Mudd Field is used extensively throughout the year for athletic practices & games. Community members also access Jim Mudd Field in a variety of ways.
A dedication for Jim Mudd Field is scheduled for 2019. If you would like information about the Mudd Nick Foundation, please go to: muddnickfoundation.org
