The FRCs strive to eliminate obstacles for children that might hinder performance in the classroom. They can connect family members with a variety of community based agencies and offer families information and support systems to help their students be successful. They coordinate with community partners to bring outside resources inside the school. From immediate needs like food or clothing, to more complex ones like counseling, medical or housing. We understand that a student cannot focus in the classroom if he or she is hungry, cold or tired or cannot see the board.
We work closely with the local C.A.R.E. office to help families with housing and utility assistance.
We have a Food Pantry located at the school for families to access.
We offer the Friday Backpack Program for students to take food home for the weekends.
